Founder & Designer

Anna

As a young girl I was surrounded by the beauty of my Mother's garden, with gorgeous garden roses always on the dining room table. She was a talented potter and as she created I would sit alongside her making miniature clay garden scenes with logs, flowering vines and various pollinators which I would sell at the local weekend craft market. Little did I know that I would end up creating with botanicals in the real sense, completing my training in a career so connected to nature.

I love nothing more than creating with flowers to enhance special occasions and events and allow others to enjoy the beauty that nature provides.

It's a love of flowers and floral design with appreciation for the guidance that I received in my learning over the years that inspires me to share my passion with others. Through my Honey & Moss workshops they too may be connected to nature, be nurtured by it, and be confident in their creating with the beautiful medium that is flowers.

Sustainable Floristry

With a focus on sustainable floristry I create in an earth conscious way and practise design techniques that reduce any negative impact, so that we tread lighter on our earth, leaving beauty behind us.

  • Flora is used in its natural state and is free from bleaches and dyes.
  • Flowers for dried florals are gathered and naturally dried in my garden studio.
  • We choose natural materials and re-usable mechanics where possible in our design process, and avoid the use of single use plastics
  • We try to support small local flower farmers and businesses as much as possible.

Intentional Designing

Wedding & Event Florals

I will work closely with you to gain an understanding of your desires for your day, and what is important to you, so that we share a floral vision that creates the feelings that you wish to convey. Flowers will be carefully selected for your occasion and designs that are personal to you, will be carried out with heart and great attention to detail.

Floral Workshops & Parties

All flowers and foliage will be carefully gathered for your workshop, supporting small local flower farmers where possible and foraging for wild botanicals to compliment our designs.

My garden is ever evolving and seasonally flowers, berries, succulents and more may be gathered to add interest.

I will always begin with a chat and a demonstration showing how to achieve the design, and will then be there to offer help and give guidance as you need.

Trust me, once you start you will soon find your flow with the flowers and botanicals and will create something beautiful that you will be proud to take home.

The Studio

HONEY & MOSS Studio + Workshop Space (open via appointment only) is located in our garden at the base of the port hills in Westmorland, Christchurch, where I live with my supportive husband and three amazing children, plus a couple of loyal pooches and free ranging chickens.

Overlooking the Southern Alps our home is our place of calm (sometimes chaos!) where we are often enjoying pottering in the garden, the everchanging seasonal colours, the vista of the mountains, and the beautiful skies that come with the north-west arch.
